Corporate Social Responsibility
ITB is committed to a program of corporate social responsibility aimed particularly
at the upliftment of people in the local community.
ITB Daycare Centre
The flagship of this program is a Daycare Centre built at the ITB factory. This
facility provides both day-care and education up to Grade R for the children of
ITB employees and is also available to other children in the area.

December 2008 saw the graduation of the first group of Grade R scholars who have
successfully completed their first steps in education.

The Christmas party was a more social affair, with some 40 children anxiously awaiting
news from Father Christmas.

Uzwano Transport
ITB outsources some of its transport and has assisted Welcome Nsele from Uzwano
Transport with the purchase of an 8 Ton truck. Uzwano Transport now owns three trucks
and transports goods from the ITB factory to customers at various destinations around
the country.
Arbor Day
ITB recognizes Arbor Day with the planting of some Natal Mahogany trees
(Trichilia
emetica) outside its Day Care Centre.
HIV Testing
ITB believes that it is important for employees to know their HIV status.
Here, Operations Director Trevor Davies is tested by clinic sisters at the ITB Factory
on World Aids Day 1 December 2011.
